Space-Saving Bottle Garden
This is an amazing way to plant a garden, be it for flowers, veggies or herbs in a minimal amount of space, recycling plastic bottles. The videos are a bit long but you can skip through it.
The first video introduces the concept of a bottle garden, while the second video is a how-to on building your own. If you have all the materials I bet you could have a bottle garden built in an hour or two!

Stingy Solutions!
I love to troll the aisles at Home Depot or Lowes to get ideas for re-purposing products for garden uses.
Last year I discovered galvanized ladder wire/mesh used to lay out cinder blocks, which is a perfect adaptation for creating row covers!
So you want this...
...without paying for this:
Online: $29 for 6, plus S&H
At Home Depot ~$2 each !!
You can bend them into any shape, cut them with wire cutters, and still afford the cover fabric!
Look for them in any bog box store with building supplies, or even online.
So look for supplies from roofing, masonry and other departments; like this galvanized mud pan for $8.61. What a fabulous modern window planter!

Civic Project - Levindale Auxiliary Sensory Garden
Our club's 2015 civic project will be to
supply and plant the raised bed in the Levindale Auxiliary Sensory
Garden located at the Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital
The goal is to have scent, touch, and visual beauty.
As you can see from the photo below circled in red, it is a small enough bed !
Stay tuned to see the after-pictures once we have completed the planting!

Library Digital Offerings for Gardeners
You may not be aware that the Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) system offers well over 100 free digital magazines for download and viewing on computers or other digital devices, many of which are of interest to gardeners. You can save these forever, or just save pages you like from the magazines. Using the Zinio magazine app or website, you can read the issues you have "checked out"
Here is just a sampling of this month's magazines which might be of interest to gardeners:
